Barely 12 months since clinching the hotly contested Starehe parliamentary seat, Charles Njagua Kanyi (Jaguar) has been a beehive of activities.

From the flats of pangani and Kariakor
to the panya routes of Mukuru Kayaba, commercial and Tetra park , to the surburbs of south B down to Kanaro in Mariguini, kisii, Hazina, Maasai and Fuata Nyayo slums, all the way to the noisy and busy streets of Ngara, straight into the populous CBD, Jaguar's work is laid bare for all to see.
His mission, YOUTH EMPOWERMENT for a better Starehe.
Normally, when elections are dusted and done with, as it is the norm with our politicians, they go into a looting spree to recover monies dished out during the elections as we the electorates go back to our normal suffering and rather hard lives of inflated prices on basic commodities. Tunabaki tukisaga meno.
Jaguar however seems to be cut from a different cloth all together. His phone number has remained the same months after winning with a landslide and for those who know he isn't shy to pick up calls or reply to sms. Now that is a first.
In the heart of Starehe it's not business as usual and one will be forgiven to think that the campaigns are still on.
Last month alone the legislator was on the forefront to ensure that more than 1000 Starehe resident especially youths had access to quality and affordable health care by sensitizing, mobilizing creating awareness and paying for their NHIF CARDS. The event which was hosted at the Railway Training Institute was graced by Nairobi senator Johnson Sakaja and women Rep. Hon. Esther Passaris among other dignitaries who pledged to work with him in his endeavours.
“Led my constituents in mass registration for the NHIF health Insurance Cover Scheme where I sponsored 1000 Starehe Constituents. The cover will go a long way in benefiting the Members and their Dependents access Quality Affordable Health Care in line with the Government's *Big 4 Agenda* . Thanks @honsakaja @honpassaris @mcawaihinya @NHIFkenya for gracing the occasion. It was indeed an honor.
It is our duty as leaders to ensure Affordable Universal Health is achieved.” Jaguar wrote on Facebook.

The women have not been left behind either as plans are underway to ensure that they have access to the women enterprise fund. Recently the mp called them to a meeting at Kariakor social hall and took them step by step on what was required to access the funds.

Football is a huge business and with the world cup frenzy catching up with everyone, business is booming and the youths saw an opportunity to reap in while supporting their favorite teams in Russia.
They made a courtesy call to Jaguar and requested DSTVS installations and he answered.
“We have installed four DSTVs in Nairobi South ward. One in Mariguini , Fuata Nyayo, Tumaini and kisii village. The youths requested for the DSTVs so that they can make something out of the world cup by charging a small fee while enjoying the matches in Russia.” Said Alex, Hon. Jaguar's representative in the area.

Schools in Starehe have not been left in the cold either.
“In collaboration with NG-CDF Starehe, I presented Lockers and Chairs to students of; St Catherine's Primary, Our Lady of Mercy Primary, Mukuru Primary and Highway Secondary School.
The fund aims at supporting the Education system of all public schools within the constituency.
An investment in Education pays the best interest.” Jaguar
Small scale traders in fig tree market in Ngara whose future looked bleak due to unconducive working environment can now laugh all the way to the market and bank after Jaguar constructed modern shades to help prevent unfavorable weather conditions that would hinder their operations.
Roads that had been depleted by rains in the constituency in recent past have since been rehabilitated under Jaguar's watch.

All these in just under 12 months is a huge step in the right direction. Well, you know what they say, Action speaks louder.Keep on keeping on mheshimiwa Mbele iko sawa.
