JAGUAR: THE NEW SHERRIFF IN TOWN.

Grapevine is rife that a private developer who claims to have papers of a piece of land in Landmawe ward in Starehe constituency is behind the planned eviction of over 300 traders in the area to pave way for his private development. The traders who are running their small scale businesses along a road reserve linking Landmawe- south B area to CBD via railways are adamant they will not relinguish their only source of livelihood and on Wednesday called on the area member of parliament Hon. Charles Njagua a.k.a Jaguar to come to their rescue and the first time legislator was swift to their call.

Speaking after visiting the market which was demolished 3 weeks ago, Jaguar assured the traders that the road reserve will not be developed by a private developer at the expense of the small scale traders.

"The traders were operating on a road reserve. The road reserve is a busy route that links the Land Mawe - South B area to the CBD Via Railways. We have had consultative talks with the traders who are ready to relocate on condition that their exit will pave way for the construction of the road. I personally will not allow the eviction of over 300 traders by a developer holding an unverified title deed of a road reserve." Hon. Jaguar assured the traders.

"I have a map of the road and it clearly shows the traders are operating on the road reserve and not a private property." Jaguar added.

After long consultations with the area member of parliament, the traders agreed not to move an inch from the road reserve unless it was road expansion or any other work related to developments of the said road.

The road, when complete will ease traffic flowing from South b via Bunyala/Uhuru Highway to CBD. Motorists from south B and its environs will instead snake in and out of the CBD via the railways estate hence enhancing movement in and out of the Central Business District.

Seems the era of public land grabbing has found it's match in Hon. Jaguar.
